Washington Post Story On Vouchers Is A Set-Up
Theola Labbe of the Washington Post wrote a story on D.C.'s voucher program which is a plant by opponents. The Government Accounting Office report which criticizes the Opportunity Scholarship Program was conducted on the behalf of Senators Richard Durbin, Edward Kennedy, and District Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton. Edward Kennedy hates the idea of vouchers and Eleanor Holmes Norton has already notified the Opportunity Scholarship staff that there is no way that this legislation will be re-newed, as if she has total control.
What is clearly missing from the story is that three times the number of families that are in the program want to take part in it and that the Georgetown Policy Institute has written glowing reviews of the work of the Washington Scholarship Fund.
We need a follow-up article balancing what has been published today.
