So What If Fenty Stole Some Material
Mayor Adrian M. Fenty's administration copied significant portions of its education strategy verbatim from a plan developed by a North Carolina school system, even as the mayor seeks to show he has the vision and expertise to restructure governance of the District's troubled public schools.
Oh wait a minute. I copied the above paragraph directly from today's Washington Post story by David Nakamura.
I guess the question is whether a mayor who has pushed hard for control of DCPS so he can turn around this trash heap of a school system now looks bad because he plagiarized over 30 percent of his plan from someone else? You bet it does. Deputy major Victor Reinoso says that it was his fault. Then if Mr. Fenty believes in strict accountability then Mr. Reinoso has to go.
