Why Not Make It $1,000
In one of the funniest stories I have seen in a very long time Senate Republicans are proposing to send every American $100 to help them pay for gas. The obvious question that comes to mind is why don't they just stop taxing the hell out of us so that we can decide how to spend our own money. In addition, I don't see these bold politicians getting rid of the federal gas tax that adds 18 cents per gallon to the cost. When you combine this with state gas taxes you get about 30 cents a gallon due to charges by various levels of government.
