High Risk
This is what the Department of Education has labeled DCPS regarding the use of federal grants. And at the same time that Washington, D.C. became the only jurisdiction within the continental United States to receive this distinction the department reminded the school superintendent that the students under his care are characterized by having the lowest standardized test scores in the nation. Lovely.
The Washington Post editors opine on this subject today and if you read the commentary carefully you will see that they are beginning to recognize what I have already observed. Superintendent Janey does not have the passion and/or guts to make the needed changes to turn DCPS around.
