A Good Start For The Morning
This from today's Washington Post:
Voucher Applications Available
District families who want to apply for vouchers to send their children to private schools are encouraged to attend meetings being held from April 28 to May 1.
The Washington Scholarship Fund, which is administering the voucher program, is hosting the sessions, where parents can fill out paperwork that will be used to determine whether they are eligible to receive federal grants of as much as $7,500 a year to cover tuition, fees and transportation costs. The program is available only to low-income families.
The meetings will be held in Hall C of the Washington Convention Center from 6 to 9 p.m. April 28, 29 and 30 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 1.
Parents unable to attend a meeting must turn in applications by May 1 and should call 1-888-329-6884 for more information. Parents also should call that number if they have questions about which documents to bring to verify income and residency.
