Tax Day
The linked article contains an interesting idea from Charles Murray (a libertarian) about how we should allocate our tax dollars. I used to get very excited when I would hear Congressman Dick Army talk about a flat tax and his proposal that instead of the government withholding income we should have to write a check each month to pay our share of it's services. The reason for the change is then we would have an appreciation of how much we were being charged to receive so little in return.
