Brown V. Board Of Education
53 years after the Supreme Court decided Brown v. Board of Education the Justices have finally figured out race should not be used to determine who is assigned to what school. Although most commentators are summarizing the decision by quoting Chief Justice Roberts comment that "The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race," I prefer Justice Thomas' response to the dissenting opinion written by Justice Breyer. According to the New York Time's Linda Greenhouse, Justice Thomas wrote in a footnote:
"Justice Breyer's good intentions, which I do not doubt, have the shelf life of Justice Breyer's tenure."
This was the last decision of the Court for this term.
