The Impact Of Tax Cuts
Sabastian Mallaby of the Washington Post quotes an article in the Atlantic Monthly by Reason's Jonathan Rauch on a new study by the Cato Institute's Bill Niskanen. The study shows that each and every time the federal government cuts taxes federal spending goes up. In other words, the best hope to reduce the size of the federal government, according to Mr. Mallaby, is to raise taxes. It is not supposed to be this way.
