Judgments On Judges And Museums

Great comments today on C-Span's Washington Journal about the Senate compromise on federal judges:

Caller 1: Congress acted like juveniles.

Caller 2: Why don't we just bring the troops home from Iraq. Because if Republican Senators are not brave enough to stand up to some liberal editorial writers who were critical of Bush's nominees then we should not be asking young men to give up their lives in defense of our ideals.

Switching subject, there are 2 positive developments today in the art world. First, as predicted on these pages, the Corcoran Museum has put on hold its plans for the Gehry addition (yea!). Also, the Whitney's expansion plans have been approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission (double yea!).
