A Fight Over Money
It looks like a battle is building between DCPS and the charter world over the extra $81 million Mayor Fenty has requested. As FOCUS points out these dollars are requested outside of the Uniform Per Student Funding Formula (UPSFF) which is the legislation enacted by the D.C. Council to make sure that charter and traditional public schools receive equal funding as required by the School Reform Act (SRA), the Congressional legislation that created D.C. charter schools. I don't think the Mayor will get away with it.
