On To The Supreme Court
So says Cato Institute constitutional scholar and really nice guy Bob Levy in a Washington Post editorial regarding the Appeals Court decision on gun control in the District. I predict we will prevail. The history and intent of the second amendment of our constitution is clear.
An interesting side note to this whole issue is that the National Rifle Association has been fighting this case from the beginning. No one really knows why although some speculate that it is because they are worried about losing at the level of the Supreme Court. I, of course, have another opinion. I think they are against it because if it is decided in our favor then the backlash against guns and them could be severe. The NRA probably thinks it is better not to have a right to own a gun in D.C. and then use this issue in their fundraising letters.
