The Future Of No Child Left Behind
Yesterday, I was over at the Cato Institute to listen to a policy forum on the future of the No Child Left Behind Law.
I had an opportunity to hear from former U.S. House Representative Dick Army which is always enjoyable. He is still one of my heroes (remember the flat tax?).
But the best part for me was hearing from Representative Peter Hoekstra of Michigan who said that he will introduce a bill next week that will allow states to opt-out of the law without losing federal funds. He says he has over 40 supporters of the legislation.
