Today Do Not Miss The Post On D.C. Education
The editors of the Washington Post again comment on Mayor Fenty's D.C. school takeover plan, this time begging the council not to mess with the legislation as it is in its current form. At least this time they finally come out and say what action they would have preferred the Mayor take which is to change the elected school board to an appointed one. This is much too timid.
Next, Colbert King writes one of the best education pieces I think he has ever done. He has had it with the horrible physical condition of the schools. But worst of all, he points out, is that the City is about to turn over the system to the very people who are responsible for its current state. I have responsed to Mr. King and when I get a message back you will see it here.
