The Right To Protect Yourself In DC

You can tell how much the Appeals Court decision overturning Washington, D.C.'s gun ownership ban has angered liberals by their reaction to the ruling. Here's an example from the editors of the Washington Post:

If allowed to stand, this radical ruling will inevitably mean more people killed and wounded as keeping guns out of the city becomes harder. Moreover, if the legal principles used in the decision are applied nationally, every gun control law on the books would be imperiled.
My favorite comment on the other side of the issue comes from Cato's Tom Palmer:

"Let's be honest: Although there are many fine officers in the police department, there's a simple test. Call Domino's Pizza or the police, and time which one gets there first," Palmer said.
Cheers.
