Walter Williams
I view George Mason University economics professor Dr. Walter Williams as the Ayn Rand of our times. His writing represent the clearest and strongest polemics supporting individual liberty and limited government. Celebrating Multiculturalism and Diversity is a perfect example of his fearlessness in expressing his beliefs, no matter the response.
I once asked him to speak at an event for the George Mason University MPA Alumni Association. He said that he couldn't because he promised himself that he would not create discord in the neighborhood in which he worked. I replied that he didn't need to speak on a controversial subject. Dr. Williams answered that anytime he speaks he is controversial.
