WEDJ School Charter School Application Approved
Last week was a fantastic week with Monday being the most important day. That evening I attended a reception hosted by the Institute for Justice in honor of the passage of the private school voucher bill. The event was coordinated by my friend Elizabeth Moser. At the reception was Clint Bolick, author of the tremendous book Voucher Wars.
That same evening the D.C. Charter School Board approved the creation of the William E. Doar, Jr. Public Charter School for the Performing Arts. I have served on the school's board of directors for the past 9 months, after completing 3 years on the board of the Cesar Chavez Public Charter High School for Public Policy. The new school will open in September. Julie Doar, William Doar's daughter is the school's executive director.
