Josh Kamras
Brain Lamb of C-Span conducted an outstanding interview which was broadcast last night with Josh Kamras, the national Teacher of the Year who teaches at John Philip Sousa Middle School in Washington D.C. You can view the program here.
According to Mr. Kamras the key to educating inner city youth is being willing to support them in every way you can, believing that everyone is capable of learning and setting high expectations. Haven't we heard all of this before? It looks like all of us involved in urban education are now saying the same thing.
I was not as impressed with his call more doubling the amount of money we currently spend on Title 1.
