Grade De-Inflation 

Samual Freedman at the New York Times writes today of the effort by Boston University to de-inflate grades. This turns out to be a tough policy, especially, as the article demonstrates, for students who have attended other colleges and then transfer to B.U. only to find that their G.P.A. slips.
