Cohn Rejects Job As D.C. Superintendent of Schools
Now that Cohn has turned down the job (as he should have) here are the top 10 things the nation's capitol needs to do to recruit a top-notch leader for its public school system:
1. Replace school board chair Peggy Cooper Cafritz with Dick Chaney.
2. Modify the mayor's job to be responsible for everything regarding the District EXCEPT FOR EDUCATION.
3. Replace all textbooks with only those produced by Saxon Publishers.
4. Place all teachers on 1 year contracts.
5. Require all D.C. elected officials to place their children in D.C. public schools.
6. Limit the size of schools to 500 children. Multiple schools are allowed to occupy 1 building.
7. Incentivise all school employees from the principals to the janitors.
8. Appoint Bill Gates as the school system's CFO.
9. Provide the Superintendent with total control of curriculum, hiring and firing, administration, and finances.
And the number 1 thing that nation's capitol needs to do to recruit a top-notch leader for its public school system is
10. Provide every family with school-age children a voucher so that they their kids can attend the private or public school of their choice.
